THURS DEC 31  Watch the Space Needle’s fireworks from atop the city’s tallest building. 

 

EMO MUSEUM PARTY

THURS DEC 31  Under the Space Needle: Seattle’s largest New Year’s eve party, 3 performance stages, live bands, comedians, dancing and more! 

 

SPACE NEEDLE

THURS DEC 31  Enjoy a beautiful fireworks show from the tallest structure on earth. Indoor parties are sold out so dress warm and watch from the ground. 

 

WAMU THEATRE

THURS DEC 31  Resolution goes far beyond the conventional, as it packed to the brim with the best theatrical performers and high-flying acrobats from all across the region along with a ton of live music.

 

NEW YEAR’S EVE EXTRAVAGANZA

THURS DEC 31  Hale’s Ales Palladium: Variety performance, dancing, laughter and appreciation of the good times are the themes of this grand New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. Kids Ok.

 

GINGERBREAD VILLAGE

Through JAN 3  Local architecture firms collaborate with the Sheraton Seattle culinary team to custom design, bake and build awe-inspiring gingerbread displays.

 

NEW YEAR’S STREET SHOW

SAT-THURS DEC 26-31  Bellevue Way, 7pm nightly. Join in on the fantastic celebration featuring a display of brilliant lights, dancing drummers, characters and exciting music that will have everyone rocking to the beat all while festive bubbles fall from the sky.

  

FREE STATE PARKS

FRI JAN 1  Free access New Year’s Day to any of these 140 Washington State Parks.

 

POLAR BEAR PLUNGE

FRI JAN 1  Warming refreshments will be served. While people wait for the plunge to kick off, there will be games, a photo booth & music.

 

NEW YEAR’S RUN/WALK

FRI JAN 1  Magnuson Park. 5K run/walk that has an optional Polar Bear Dive into Lake Washington just prior to the event finish line area. The post-race celebration includes a free kids dash for children 10 & under and a beer garden for those over 21. 

 

SOUND OF MUSIC

Through JAN 3  Experience this Broadway musical done as only The 5th can – with a full orchestra, stunning sets and costumes, and a stellar cast of Seattle favorites.

 

WILLY WONKA

Through JAN 3  SIFF Film Center. Bring your nose, your taste buds, and your sense of adventure as you tour the most eccentric and wonderful candy factory of all, made even more outrageous by Gene Wilder’s wonderfully eccentric performance.

 

BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY

Through JAN 3  Benaroya Hall. Beethoven’s masterpiece for the ages is a wonderful way to end the year or begin the new one. The beauty and drama of the Ninth is alternately awe-inspiring and uplifting.

 

ICE SKATING

Through JAN 10  Bellevue: The region’s largest open-air holiday ice skating experience! This beloved Magic Season tradition is the perfect memory-making activity for family and friends during the holidays. 

 

NEW YEAR’S FUN RUN

FRI JAN 1  Meridian Valley Country Club, Kent. This untimed fun run intended for families and individuals from throughout the community.

 

BOAT TOUR

SAT  Enjoy a narrated tour of Lake Union & Lake Washington, lunch included.
